This week I finished the Self-Paced Training Kit for 70-445 (2005 Business Intelligence—Implementation and Maintenance). I mainly read the digital version of the book (this way it was much easier to create notes and do the practice exercises). The book itself is not here at the moment but as far as I remember there was a little notice on the back cover about being an award winning Training Kit of the MS Press in 2005.
Well, sometimes Microsoft likes saying nice things but this time it is really true. Not just because it was chosen from only MS Press books (
) but it is really a good one. I learned a lot from it and despite the thing that there are many areas not covered by it you cannot expect from any book to cover it all (and being shorter than 5 000 pages 
)
So it summarizes the basic functionalities of AS, IS and RS gives the reader a quite broad knowledge, though some of the practices could have been worked out better.
I've made a 110 pages long "summary" of it which I hope will be enough
to reread before my second attempt. I plan I'll go for it in two weeks.
I suggest reading it to everyone who is not an expert with more than five years of experience :) It takes some (or much ) time but it's worth it.
I hope the new (70-448) Training Kit will be as good as this one. I've checked its webpage today and saw that its release has been postponed from April 1 to 15.
Next step is trying all the 209 practice tests
