I sat to try the 70-445 exam once more this morning and I succeeded! I had been preparing since last december, read the training kit at least 4 times, looked through every test questions that came with the book. They were much much easier than the real test.
When getting the first few questions I became a bit frozen (almost blue death 
) because they were quite hard.
Overall my opinion is that you have to use BIDS and all elements of the SQL BI suite on a daily level to achieve this exam because the questions often ask about very tiny details. (e.g. how to create a linked report: click on the general tab \ click on the create linked report button \ add report and folder name - to be honest I was thinking hard if that create linked report button is on the execution or on the general tab /I don't use RS in practice/)
The Training Kit and a thorough first-hand experince is probably enough to pass this exam.
