Was about to download Oracle Express...

I wanted to compare Oracle Express with SQL Server 2005 Express editions but Oracle's aggreement definitely discourages me, quote from the eula....

Upon 45 days written notice Oracle may audit the use of the program.  You agree to cooperate with Oracle's audit and provide reasonable assistance and access to information. You agree that Oracle shall not be responsible for any of your costs incurred in cooperating with the audit.

What on earth is that about? The words shove it come to mind....

well .. first I never realised anyone read those agreements, although I'm always reminded of Dilbert reading an agreement to become Bill Gates teaboy ( if memory remains correct ) when I tick "I agree".

secondly:-
Isn't this like most of Oracle's "offers and boasts" , full of conditions, let outs and general rubbish.  I guess they're worried and have to try to respond to everything sql does much as sql trys to put in oracle features ( like non ansi isolation levels ).
Actually sql 2005 express is one hell of a free product, especially linked to the vs express editions. I'm surprised Oracle would even be concerned, I'd have thought SQL Express was more of a threat to the likes of mysql.
