SSAS 2008: Internal error: An unexpected exception occurred

I have spent the best part of a day removing named sets from SSAS cube definition.
It appears that by creating a certain date set to work out sets relative today, my existing reports using date hierarchies started throwing this error. Seems like a bug to me. Raised with microsoft: http://www.connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=520986
It eventually caused the SSAS service to crash. Just documenting for any other soul who encounters the issue. The eventual fix was to move from using dynamic to static sets which are a new feature of 2008.
