The reason I would like to do this is because I restore my working copy from the production database every two weeks from a full backup made by our administrator. The backup is really large so I would prefer to perform a differential backup from the full backup made two weeks ago and therefore download a much smaller file. However, there are full backups of the database made by the administrator regularly in the two week period and I need to find a way to "trick" SQL Server to think that when I perform a differential backup it is from a different full backup (i.e. the one that I used to restore my working copy). Therefore, I need to change the differential base. So is there a way to do that do you know?

Many thanks for your time!
